My Story

I’m Lynne Nieman.

Travel addict. Europe lover. Photographer. Writer. Podcaster. Runner. Hiker. Nature lover.

I’m happiest in the mountains, but also love the feeling of sand between my toes.

I haven’t met a French cheese I don’t like — nor an Italian wine or Irish whiskey.

And I truly believe in the transformative power of travel — independent travel that connects the traveler to the locals.

That’s why I created Wander Your Way.

For 11 years I’ve been planning your independent trips to Europe.

And I love it!

I love chatting with you and getting to know you so that I can help you plan your customized trip.

So you can really wander your way.

So how did all this begin?

Well my love affair with Europe started in 2005 when I traveled — solo — to southern Spain.

I had no plans and only spoke a little bit of Spanish.

It was up to me to figure out where to go, how to get there, where to stay and what to do once I was there.

And I absolutely loved it!

I met Spaniards and other travelers — connecting with these people in ways I never imagined.

I wandered through cities and small towns, taking in iconic sites and every day life in Spain.

I remember seeing a group of kids playing fútbol (soccer) in the cobblestone streets of Vejer de la Frontera.

It was boys versus girls.

And I thought to myself, “Well isn’t that just typical!”

It just seemed so natural — so universal.

And I realized that it doesn’t matter what language we speak, what religion we practice, what traditions we cherish — we’re all human.

I soon found myself traveling to Ireland and Italy, Turkey and Greece, Switzerland and France, Scotland and Slovenia.

By myself.

I planned my own trips — learning how to create the perfect itinerary, to find the ideal accommodation, to figure out the best way to get from point A to point B and to have the experiences I wanted.

And there was no way in hell I was getting on a bus with 50 of my best friends to see 10 cities in 5 days just to check a place off a list.

As my love of Europe grew I decided to share my images and my stories on a blog.

That morphed into wanting to help people create their own dream trips to Europe.

Folks would say to me, “I would love to take a trip like yours.”

I would always tell them they could and encouraged them to do so.

Today I am so lucky to do something I love.

Seriously.

I love what I do.

Not many people can say this about their jobs.

I have combined my passion for travel, my detail-oriented skills and my love of people into Wander Your Way.

My hope is that you’ll travel to Europe — your way.

That you’ll go, explore, connect and experience.

That you too will find traveling to Europe to be life changing.

I want to help you make those travel dreams a reality.

No matter your budget.

No matter your style.

No matter where or when you want to go.

As for me, my dream is to keep exploring Europe — eating and drinking my way through it.

Running through cities and vineyards.

Hiking up mountains.

Swimming in seas.

Making new friends.

Taking unplanned detours (aka getting lost).

Photographing the incredible beauty of this continent.

And writing and podcasting about my adventures.

And the new thing I’m doing?

Leading some of you on small group tours to some of my absolute favorite places in Europe.

That’s right.

I’ve always had a vision of creating and leading small group tours to some of the amazing destinations I’ve traveled to.

So I have started Wander Your Way Adventures so I can join you — and you can join me — as we travel to some of my most-loved places in Europe.

I told you I was addicted to travel!

I love talking about Europe travel and love inspiring you to get out and explore this amazing continent. But to keep the blog and podcast going it takes time — and blogging and podcasting don’t exactly pay. So show the love by buying me a cup of tea or glass of wine. I appreciate it — and appreciate YOU!
