Meet Lynne

I’m Lynne Nieman — travel addict, Europe lover, photographer, podcaster, writer, hiker, former (and hopefully future) runner, and the founder of Wander Your Way.

I’m happiest in the mountains, though I also love the feeling of sand between my toes.

I haven’t met a French cheese I don’t like — nor an Italian wine or Irish whiskey.

And I truly believe in the transformative power of travel, especially the kind that connects you to a place, its landscapes and the people who call it home.

That belief is what led me to create Wander Your Way.

For more than a decade, I’ve been helping travelers plan meaningful, independent trips across Europe — journeys shaped by landscapes, local connection, and the freedom to explore at your own pace.

If there’s a scenic trail, a quiet village, or an intriguing historical site nearby, there’s a good chance I’ll try to find it.

How it all began

My love affair with Europe started in 2005 on a solo trip to southern Spain.

I had no real plans and spoke only a little Spanish. It was up to me to figure out where to go, how to get there, where to stay, and what to do once I arrived.

And I absolutely loved it.

I wandered through cities and small towns, taking in both iconic sights and everyday life.

One moment I still remember clearly: a group of kids playing fútbol in the cobblestone streets of Vejer de la Frontera — boys versus girls.

It felt so natural, so universal.

And it reminded me that no matter where we come from, we all share more than we think.

From there, I kept traveling — to Ireland, Italy, Switzerland, France, Scotland, Slovenia, Turkey, Greece and beyond.

Always planning my own trips.

Always wandering a little deeper.

Always looking for a trail, a hillside or a stretch of coastline to explore on foot.

Always choosing connection over checklists.

And there was absolutely no way I was getting on a bus with 50 of my so-called friends to see 10 cities in five days just to check places off a list.

Definitely not my style.

From passion to profession

As my travels continued, I began sharing my experiences and photos on a blog.

Over time, people started asking for help planning their own trips.

“I’d love to travel like you do,” they’d say.

So I started helping them do exactly that.

Today, Wander Your Way brings together my love of Europe, my eye for detail, and my passion for helping others create trips that feel meaningful, personal, and rooted in soft adventure.

I love getting to know my clients and shaping journeys that reflect how they want to travel — whether that means scenic walks through mountain villages, time in nature, cultural experiences, or simply a well-paced itinerary with plenty of breathing room.

I always say I can help you plan a little or a lot of your trip.

What I do now

Through Wander Your Way, I help travelers plan thoughtful, well-paced trips across Europe — especially in places that lie a little beyond the busiest routes.

Many of the journeys I design include time outdoors — easy to moderate hikes in the mountains and rolling hills, scenic walks along the coast, and opportunities to experience the landscapes that make Europe so special.

It’s the kind of travel often described as soft adventure — active, immersive, and deeply connected to place without being extreme.

You’ll still see iconic destinations.

But you’ll also discover quieter corners, local experiences, and natural settings that make you pause and take it all in.

And now I lead small-group journeys through Wander Your Way Adventures, exploring some of my favorite regions in Europe with like-minded travelers.

These trips are for those who enjoy exploring on foot, taking in the scenery and culture, and traveling at a thoughtful pace.

Looking ahead

My hope is that you’ll travel to Europe in a way that feels true to you — that you’ll go, explore, connect, and spend time in nature as you experience the places you visit more deeply.

Whether that journey leans into cultural discovery, scenic wandering, or your own version of soft adventure, I want it to feel meaningful and entirely your own.

As for me, I plan to keep exploring Europe — hiking in the mountains, wandering through villages, walking through vineyards and along coastal paths, swimming in the sea, taking too many photos (is there such a thing?), getting lost from time to time, and sharing it all through my podcast, writing, and tours.

I’d love to help you plan your next journey.

I love talking about Europe travel and love inspiring you to get out and explore this amazing continent. But to keep the blog and podcast going it takes time — and blogging and podcasting don’t exactly pay. So show the love by buying me a cup of tea or glass of wine. I appreciate it — and appreciate YOU!
